Capricorn New Moon: “Soulful Structure”
Element: Earth
Ruled by Saturn
Associated Body Parts: Bones, Joints, Knees, Skin and Teeth
Rules Matters concerning Ambition, Authority, Business, Career, Desire, Drive, Goals, Reputation, Responsibility
As a child, I was annoyed by the structure my parents gave in our home. It felt like rules that were in place to give me a hard time and limit my freedom. In fact, structure can often feel like it is at odds with freedom, and therefore can feel limiting and constraining.
However it is structure that actually helps us to enjoy freedom. While I didn’t like washing the dishes or taking out the garbage as a child, I realize that this structure my parents had in place at home has been beneficial to me as an adult, and helped to instill the tools in my to be able to manage myself and my own home freely.
Capricorn is associated with the mountain goat. Similar to the goat that makes it to the top of the mountain, Capricorn energy reminds us of the structure and discipline that it takes to reach our goals. Nothing is impossible to the Capricorn because the Capricorn accepts and trusts that structures that will help it to achieve.
Structure that comes from the soul challenges us to rise above what we think is possible about ourselves. Very often in life, we begin to believe ideas about ourselves that become limiting and excuses to not try to achieve or grow. When we say, “I am just not good at music” or “I can’t lose weight”, we are making a decision that we cannot and will not change, and we are most often looking at structure and denying how structure might be able to help us.
Structure pushes us past our comfort zone and it teaches us to grow and stay open and free to becoming whomever we dream of becoming.
