I don’t know about you, but this month’s theme, The Audacity of Self-Love, has brought up a lot. In reflecting, I have taken the time to see the places in my life where I have really truly cultivated the practice and I’ve also seen where there is still more love to give (and receive).
How is your Self-love Practice coming?
The more I reflect on the Audacity of Self-Love, the more it becomes clear how very foundational the practice of loving yourself really is to the truly WILD life.
The amount of love we have for ourselves affects:
How much we respect ourselves (and others)
What we dare to do or not to do in our lives
Our overall feeling of Well-being
The way we experience and treat our bodies
The words we speak
The relationships we choose
Our creativity
Our money
Our sex lives.
Holy shiza! It affects everything.
When you love yourself, you believe you are worthy. And, friend, you are.
When you love yourself, you allow yourself to walk, run, crawl, dance, skip in the direction of your dreams. And I should mention, when you love yourself you allow yourself to actually dream your own dreams, as strange and unusual as they may be.
When you love yourself, it’s kinda like wearing the perfect pair of jeans…they fit you juuuust right and you feel good in ‘em.
I don’t want you to live your life like you are wearing pants that are too small and shoes that are too big. I want you to live in your own skin. Live the life of YOUR dreams.
As we move forward into other themes and explorations, I want you to know it will always come back here. How much do you love yourself? And how can you keep that love alive?
Remember:
It is a practice
So keep truckin’, my love.
Last week I gave you 16 practices to keep loving yourself. Bookmark the page or print it out and come back to it when you are feelin’ like you need a recharge.
And my New Yorkers, I am teaching a 5 week workshop very soon and self-love practice is on the menu. Check out WILD Woman Initiation this May~it’s a life changing month and I sincerely hope to have you there. Hear all about it + words from past students here.
Sending you all my love. Hope you feel it.

I’ll be teaching a creative writing class this summer to a group of 11-14 year-olds. I have experience teaching writing (mostly poetry) to adults, but teaching kids will be new territory. Does anyone have some great tips, websites, resources for exercises, and reading materials for this age group? Thanks!.
