About the Wild Woman Initiation Series
The Wild Woman Project came to me in a flash, a vision & it wouldn’t let me go. So, I listened. The Wild Woman archetype has been initiating me ever since. Through various experiences, which have mostly been about untangling what is true & what is not true in my own being, I have come ever closer to the wild woman within. I am a student, servant, guardian to this project who’s mission is to to awaken women to their most authentic, undomesticated nature, so they may feel like themselves, all the time, no apologies. I am sharing the 13 most important lessons I’ve learned about the path of the Wild Woman over the next few months. May it be useful.

Once I realized that Plan A was not the path I wanted to take, I considered a series of alternate ways.
No matter which way I wanted to go, it was going to be a bit gnarly-full of unknowns and looming challenges.
Yet, one avenue, in particular, stood out and seem to say, “sure, I’ll require some surfing, but I promise to be fun and good for you.”
As I considered,
As I imagined everything in my life that was going to have to change,
As my heart pounded inside my chest,
I heard her…
The wild woman whispered:
You must not be afraid of the mess,
For if you fear it, you will miss the magic.
~~~
the dirt under the finger nails
the soft chaos of falling snow
the sweat dripping down the back
the post-lovemaking stickiness
the trembling of the voice on the big day
the kitchen sink after the feast
the sheets in the morning
the tea bag getting cold when the water is long gone
the empty card board boxes strewn about during the move
the decay of old vegetable parts in the compost
the tissues on the floor after the overdue cry
the wobble of the mind when she changes it
the messiness of the earth plane.
this is the stuff of a life well lived.
Over the years my relationship to order has changed.
I used to believe I had control over my life. I’ve learned that is only partially true-the only thing I have any really control over is my inner state.
I used to believe that A came first, then B, and C and so forth to Z. I’ve learned that life is more like jazz: C then, Q then A and G.
I used to believe that if I did what I’d been told to do in school, that I’d live out the American dream. I’ve learned that the American dream as we knew it has decayed & something new is emerging.
I used to believe that if I was a good girl and followed the rules I’d be happy and never get in trouble. I’ve learned that the rebel-hearted don’t get in as much trouble as you’d think & are often the beaming ones.
The wild woman has taught me to dance with the moment. A skill which requires curiosity and an open heart-oh, and practice, lots of practice.
She’s taught me over and over again that the moments you think are going to be the “big ones” do not hold a candle to the times when life catches you by surprise.
This lesson has opened me up to so many possibilities. And it is my sincere wish, that during your wild woman initiation you find both comfort and thrill in…
Lesson 7:
You are not here to obey.
You are not here to control.
You are here to BE & MAKE a Glorious Mess.
And that mess will be your magic.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to attend my usual circle of sisters the past few new moons but I’m finding your email posts especially pertinent lately. This one is so spot on. Thank you for the inspiration and words of wisdom. I keep hearing the same messages from the universe and without checking out the Wild Woman circles last year, I don’t think I would have been open to them. Thank you!
I came into this world a rebel I believe. Thru all the years of exposure (:-o conditioning) I was finally tucked in so everyone near me could relax. However!! The unconquerable resurfaced and I can not only relate to what you have so eloquently said, I can own it!!!! Woohoo*
Yay, Janet!!
Anyone in the Salt Lake area who would like to connect… feeling out of place here… also, Im into travel and exploration if anyone else is!
This is so true…looking forward to the Wild Woman Experience 🙂
You are here to BE & MAKE a Glorious Mess.
Discovering this lesson many years later, it resonates. Sometimes when I feel very chaotic inside, whether joyful or confused, I say, “I’m feeling so jazzy!” And then I am able to experience the wildness of it, and accept it, and be with myself in a helpful way. Thank you.
