About the Wild Woman Initiation Series
The Wild Woman Project came to me in a flash, a vision & it wouldn’t let me go. So, I listened. The Wild Woman archetype has been initiating me ever since. Through various experiences, which have mostly been about untangling what is true & what is not true in my own being, I have come ever closer to the wild woman within. I am a student, servant, guardian to this project who’s mission is to to awaken women to their most authentic, undomesticated nature, so they may feel like themselves, all the time, no apologies. I am sharing the 13 most important lessons I’ve learned about the path of the Wild Woman over the next few months. May it be useful.

And the Wild Woman twirled her weathered hands as she spoke:
Revel in the Dervish who whirls, round and round.
Stand in awe as you count the rings on the insides of the trees you love so much.
Let your heart be moved by the moon dancing in strange loops around the Earth.
Feel your body standing on the planet, spinning on its axis, and spiraling around the Sun.
Know that you are not separate from this circling, cycling, living galaxy.
Everything inside of you
and outside too
is cycling
spinning.
If you let go
and if you allow it
those constant movements
(ever changing your view)
will spin you into
ecstatic aliveness –
And you will know what it means
to go Wild.

Nearly a decade ago, I was in San Francisco training to be a Yoga Teacher. During that time, day or night, anytime I closed my eyes, I saw the same thing: A spiral – alive and moving. Sometimes the spiral was very faint, almost undetectable, and other times, it felt like a light show in my head.
That time for me, all those years ago, was a time a great change. It was truly thrilling – the way transitions often are – terrifying and full of hope.
That spiral became my muse & teacher.
I began to awaken to the cyclical nature of life. I watched old relationships die off, as new ones were born. I felt certain parts of myself waning, as others began to wax. I began to see and feel that there truly are seasons things – projects, relationships, experiences, places.
It became clear that my life, inside and out, was a like a forrest – a place where death and new life naturally co-exist.

I understand now that life will relentlessly spin us round and round.
Yet, from time to time, I forget. I forget that all that is living is moving and changing. With anything- after winter, comes the spring & after the bright light of the day, darkness will set in.
Maybe you forget too?
It is part of our Wild Woman Initiation to be in the practice of remembering.
For to remember the majesty of the cycle, the circle, is to be awake to the tender livingness of all that is.
~~
May you remember Lesson 10, in your darkest of nights & in all your light-filled days:
You (along with every other living thing) are circling & cycling, ever dying and always being born.
