I think we can all agree that this moon cycle, October 30th-November 28th, has stirred the pot – collectively and on a deeply personal level. We are living in a time of great change.
It seems that we are at a pivotal moment, and pivot we must.
Scorpio season is not for the faint of heart – it calls us toward truth (even if it’s hard to face). This Moon Cycle, which was initiated by the New Moon in Scorpio, we dove into the inner depths to uncover our deepest desires. We recognized these deep desires as seeds of creation.
In light of of the destructive energy that is being unveiled & making itself known,
In light of the need for new solutions, inspired actions & innovation,
our deepest, soul-level desires,
our seeds of creation,
are needed now more than ever.
Please use this ritual recipe to close the moon cycle with awareness & care. By acknowledging all that has unfolded in this cycle, we can step into the New Cycle (beginning on November 29th) with clarity & courage.
☾ Ritual Recipe: Digesting the Desire Cycle ☾
Make Space:
Sometime between now and November 28th, carve out sometime for yourself (30 minutes or an hourish). Put it in your calendar (for real) – give it a juicy name that will help you show up for yourself. Example: Self-Care Ritual (insert favorite emojis)
Make Your Time Sensuous & Inspiring:
Make your favorite tea, choose some sacred items to have near (crystals, candles, prayer beads, inspiring pictures – anything goes). Put on your favorite socks & adornments. Set up your physical space so it feels deeply good to you (whatever that looks like). Have your favorite pen & journal handy. Perhaps some inspiring music (here is the Desire Cycle playlist to use) and/or you favorite book of poetry.
Evoke the Water Element:
Have a bowl of water or ocean/river sounds ready. Scorpio, who gave us inspiration this whole cycle, is a water sign. To bring water into the ritual, we call in the waves of our emotions, the flow of the universe, and a desire for depth & essential nourishment. You may decided to wash your hands and face – feeling the purifying, cooling, nourishing qualities of water. Use your water however you feel guided.
Feel Your Body:
Take a moment to remember the intelligence & aliveness of your body. You may use breath and movement here – there is no “right way” to do this. You could trace your finger tips all over you. Acknowledging this: your sacred temple, your primary home.
Suggested Inquiry:
You may start with your favorite prayer, poem or simply by lighting a candle. Ask your own heart the following questions: #1 – What has been your biggest lesson/learning/breakthrough of this cycle? #2 – What are you leaving behind/shedding? (ex: that habit, that story, that quality, etc.) #3 – What are you carrying forward into the next cycle? (ex: that new perspective, a piece of clarity, a particular habit or quality)
Express Gratitude:
Consciously connect to that which you consider to be Sacred or Divine. Then express your gratitude for the unfoldings, the lessons, the cycle. For some this may look like dancing or writing a poem, for others it may be saying the words of a prayer or a song, it may be the drawing or painting of something- or, you know, you may just sit and be blessed. Just find a way to express thankfulness.
Enjoy the Space You Created:
Be in this ritual, in the space for as long as you feel inspired. You can linger here and enjoy this time with your inner life.
When you are ready, close:
Here are some ways you may choose to close – Blow out your candle. Place a hand on you heart & a hand on your belly. Bow your head. Do a child’s pose. Howl to the Moon. (It is your choice to make – just seal it in.)
Now, you are ready to enter the New Moon Cycle & begin again! (be sure you are are signed up for Wild Woman Weeklyish – we will send you Inspiration and Resources for the New Moon on November 29)!
