About the Campfire Series:

Here at The Wild Woman Project, we deeply believe in the power of learning from and celebrating each other’s diverse experiences, stories, and perspectives. We also believe there is great power in allowing yourself to be witnessed. The Campfire Series gives us the feeling of gathering with our closest sisters around a fire (or a candle, or a bottle of wine) and sharing intimate stories. Naturally, when women gather, no two experiences are the same. These stories can range from sharing deep epiphanies, “hell yaasss” moments, heartaches, and downright silliness.

Breasts are the Gateway to the Heart

I believe that our chest and breasts are a gateway to the heart – physically, energetically, and emotionally. There’s so much identity in our breasts. So many stories. So much baggage. And learning to love, understand, and support that part of the body lifts big blocks like shame, discomfort, or confusion. Those blocks may be caused by misunderstandings about your bra size, judgement of your value as a woman and the perkiness/fullness/existence of your breasts, or your frustration with bras or undergarments. I hear you.

I have proof that breasts can be the gateway to the heart. In my 13+ years of bra fitting, I’ve learned to use bras and undergarments as a tool to help people understand and love their breasts, and unblock the heart. It’s almost just a matter of time as I watch them then learn to love other parts of their bodies and themselves. Whether that person wears a bra or not in the end makes no difference to me. What I want is for them to have a better understanding of themselves, their body, their desires, and their options so they can make a loving, joyful, supportive choice for themselves.

I have done this through methods like education on bra sizes and style options – for sure. But the real magic is in helping people, like you, realize that you are understood. You are not less than. You are beautiful and sexy and vibrant and supported and beaming with love. I’ve seen people leave the fitting room feeling more like themselves than ever before. I’ve witnessed moms to be marvel at the power inside of them. I’ve seen people make peace with their bodies. I’ve cried with people who are healing after cancer. I’ve seen people reclaim their identity. Above all, I’ve seen people open the gateway to their hearts by taking a step toward loving their breasts and chest.

When the gateway is open, that leads to a greater experience with your heart and its powerful energy. It leads to love for yourself and others. It leads to compassion. It leads to connection. It leads to what I call Hurray on the inside, outside, and underneath™.

Bra fittings are just one way to tap into that heart power. There are many others. And it’s my honor to lead people through journeys like this all the time one on one, or on TV in front of millions of people. I encourage you to explore this part of your physical, emotional, and energetic body and open up the gates to your heart.

Breasts are the gateway to the heart.

Like two golden gates

They lead the way to

That energy center,

That anatomical pulse,

That center of it all.

Perched there,

Sometimes perky

Sometimes not.

Full bust, petite bust, or taken away.

Hands on your heart.

Feel your heartbeat.

Feel. Feel. Feel.

Can you feel it?

You have to pass through the gates first

To get to the heart of it all.

Breasts are the gateway to the heart.

Those gates are often

Closed,

Sealed,

Locked tight,

Chained up.

Closed by stories,

Judgements,

Misunderstandings.

Sealed by fears.

Too much, too little,

Just enough.

Locked by

Censorship,

Degradation,

Pain.

Chained by

Sickness,

Confusion,

Shame.

Locked up tight. Closed off.

That’s not you.

You. Your breasts. Your body.

Your heart.

Those are stories.

About who you are,

Or where your value lies.

Shunned away or on display

Those stories are in the way.

Of your heart.

Take a step back.

Recognize the stories,

The misunderstandings,

The someone else’s fear.

Let them go.

Forgive yourself for buying into them.

Forgive yourself for misunderstanding.

Who you are

And what you deserve

Is so much more.

Unlock these gates

And let the love shine through.

Walk through with compassion,

Understanding,

And no judgement.

There’s no right or wrong here.

There no too big or too small.

There’s no reason to doubt.

Your beauty.

Your perfection.

Your worth.

Are not based on the gates

But what’s inside.

Wash the hatred away and let the gates shine anew.
