- First, simply take some time reflecting on all the Revolutions that have happened in your life over the last year. Were there big changes? Or subtle shifts? Perhaps you started a new job, or fine tuned your role in a position you’ve held for years. Perhaps you’ve had monumental emotional experiences, or learned a little more about an aspect of yourself you’ve already cultivated.
- Next, decide on 1-3 Revolutions that happened in your life over the last year that you would like to Celebrate. These can be celebrations of major events such as moving, beginning a new job, cultivating new friendships or romantic relationships. These can also be subtle Revolutions (and just because they aren’t “major” doesn’t meant they aren’t worthy of an equally enthusiastic celebration). Some of your more subtle Revolutions might be: reading more books, taking more opportunities to live a creative life, setting boundaries, allowing yourself to have more fun, taking the next step in the process of completing a larger project, or anything you can imagine.
- Lastly, decide on 1-3 things you would like to release. These items might be things that you would like to release that are making it challenging for you to continue going deeper in a specific area of you life (perhaps a habit or thought pattern that is preventing you from deepening a relationship or moving onto the next step in a project). Or these items might be something more major that you have been contemplating releasing for a while, and now the time to release has arrived.
Take a moment to write these down in your journal.

I am looking forward to this ritual tonight. It has been a year of enormous change for me, and my birthday is tomorrow. This full moon has come at the perfect time to complete the circle honor this process.
Your words come at the most perfect of times – I found myself grounding in a cup of warm milk and honey before step two. This full moon marks the completion of a two-year journey through academia and I am releasing my role as that kind of student. Under this full moon I am stepping more fully onto the wild path and celebrating this revolution by holding my first Wild Woman New Moon Circle at the end of the month.
