Yes. The moon has been communicating with me, recently, I’m certain! Calling me, tapping on my window and showing me things. I’ve come to learn she’s quite mischievous. And until recently, never thought of her as a person or being but of a thing. Now I know, she is much more than that! She has a soul, a mind of her own and has such a powerful influence over us. I need to do more reading into this, as this is something I have been shown and have no prior knowledge of. Its been a beautiful and magical experience, just like her. And I was connected to her through being first acquainted with the herb most associated with her, Artemisia Vulgaris.
Thank you so much for this moving bit of writing — I absolutely recognize the feeling and it is pure magic. Recently, during a late evening jog around our farm I heard the familiar honk of geese. As I continued running towards the sound it grew louder and louder until our paths perfectly converged. Flying low and directly over me it felt, for a precious second, as if the geese had lifted me off of the ground and pulled me away with them. Continuing on the run, my whole body felt lighter.
when reading that chris, it made me contemplate how all small creatures have this knowing of building, of creating. whether it is its home, like the bird builds its nest, or the spider creates its web, i loved the word you used also; intricate, what a fascinating word. what a gift we all have, to be able to build. it’s like, those are our secrets, how we all instinctively know within how to build. isnt it mysterious to also think what if it was the butterfly who could create the web, and the spider who went into its cacoon. to contemplate the unique things we have all been gifted to create.
I would’ve loved to have seen all those spider webs in the field. When I lived in Hawaii, banana spiders used to weave webs right outside my tent window and my evening activity was watching them. It was mesmerizing. I could never tell if they were different spiders or the same one who moved spots, but after I noticed one dead on the ground, I felt such a strong urge to have a little burial ceremony for it. Such cool creatures.
