Dear One,
The Moon is dark again, making her new offering. May we open our arms and receive it.
The great creatrix, Joy Harjo, of the Muscogee nation writes:
“When I began to listen to poetry, it’s when I began to listen to the stones, and I began to listen to what the clouds had to say, and I began to listen to other. And I think, most importantly for all of us, then you begin to learn to listen to the soul, the soul of yourself in here, which is also the soul of everyone else.”
We begin this Moon Cycle by walking through a poem from the prolific, courageous, spirited, Joy Harjo, aiming to see the world through her eyes – a truly unique and tremendously valuable perspective, especially in these changing and challenging times.
The poem is Perhaps the World Ends Here, followed by a New Moon journaling inquiry for you.
Feel free to make yourself comfy, perhaps outside somewhere & let’s be together.
After you’ve taken in the poem & inquiry, in the comments here, I’d love to hear from you: How did this poem and pondering land for you? What is essential to life, from your perspective? ♥️

Why are we here? Why is a stone here? And the wildflowers? The willow? We all are. Energy, synergy. May we breathe this into our truths and weave with honor the sacred harmony.
And so it is. Thank you, Serena. xo
This is my new favorite poem. It spoke to me deeply. Thank you.
On the question what does it mean to be human, what matters most…my simple answer is: Connection.
To others, to nature, to Self, to All. If the world ends tomorrow and I’m at my kitchen table with the ones I hold most dear, I will die happy.
What a beautiful offering. Much love.
Yes and yes and yes to all of this. Thanks for sharing, love. Right there with you. xo
What it means to be human? Love and connection. The kitchen table is where we gather as a family to connect, to live, laugh, love and mourn. It is the most comforting place in any house because of all we do and learn there. Joy reminds us of all of this in her poem.
Well said, Diane. Thanks for sharing. xo
