A Midsummer Moonlit Dream: A Solo Ritual Recipe
Tune Into Your Breath & Receive the Night
Once you have gathered your materials, and have set up your space, it is time to move into the Ritual. With eyes open and gaze soft, let you awareness ride the waves of your breath for a minimum of 11 rounds (an inhale and exhale is one round).
Our breath helps us to become present in our bodies and the moment. The breath also has a way of helping us bridge the perceived gap between the inner world and the outer world. As you breathe, begin to receive the presence of the living world around you. What can you sense? How does your breath help you to sense?
Befriend your breath & the Night for the entirety of the ritual.
Lighting the Candle with the Wild Spirit Invocation
As you light your candle, whisper or speak these words aloud:
Let this flame represent the wild spirit which burns within each of us.
As we awaken our own wild spirit, we awaken the collective spirit.
Here you step from mundane space into the liminal space of ritual by evoking that mysterious spark of life which animates the living world of which you are a part.
Calling Upon A Dream Come True
Pick up one of your flowers.
As you touch it, smell it & look at it, bring to mind a waking dream you had in the past which came true, something you really wanted to happen that did.
Lay down, with the flower laying on your heart, look up at the sky, feel the Earth at your back while you linger in the memory: remember how it felt to wish for it, to long for it, and then to actually receive it. Melt into the Earth as you remember. Let yourself pulse with gratitude under the Moon. A dream you had came true! What a gift.
Once you’ve fully felt this memory, say, sing, whisper or chant at least 3 times (more if it feels good):
Dreams are the things
that give life wings!
Feeling for a Dreaming Seed
Pick up your second flower.
As you touch it, smell it, look at it, ask yourself, in the privacy of your own heart, under the Summer Sky: What is my Soul-deep dream? What is that one dream my heart wishes will come true?
When an answer makes itself known, lay your flower over your womb, your low belly, then dip your finger into the your bowl of water. Write your dream with water somewhere on your skin, anywhere on your skin.
Then melt into the Earth, one dream come true at your heart, a dream seed at your womb, and the words of your Soul-deep dream written in that sacred substance, water, on your skin. As the Moonlight washes over your body, feel your longing for that dream, and imagine with every cell how it will feel when it comes true.
Linger here with your dream until the water dries into your skin.
Once you’ve felt the fullness of your dream, say, sing, whisper or chant at least 3 times (more if it feels good):
Blessed are our dreams,
those evolutionary seeds.
Make an Offering of Gratitude to Nature, to Life.
In your own way, express gratitude to nature, to life.
You can speak, sing, drum. Calling upon touch and vibration can really help here. No one is watching, so what you feel. Follow your instincts.
Closing Howl and Blowing Candle.
When you’re ready and only when you’re ready:
Take a breath in, then exhale a howl at any volume. (Honoring the instinctual)
Take another breathe in and exhale blow out the candle to close the ritual space.
May your Soul-deep dreams come true.

I always love to hear from you ♥️
The moon was hiding when I practised my ritual but I had been feeling her presence as I prepared for this.
I felt a deep connection to my heart and soul and both were longing for this time spent together. A lifetime of longing and the words in your ritual made me weep with both joy and longing. My giving back to nature was a pledging of myself to nature.
I came home to my heart and soul and felt a deep peace I have not felt for a lifetime.
With love and gratitude
Liz
Mmmm…sounds perfect, Liz. ♥️
