7 Fall Rituals
To honor the Seasons as they come is to say to the living world, I see you and I am here with you

In today’s Wild Woman Weeklyish I offer up 7 tiny rituals to help you unlock the special magic & feel of the season. These are meant to be enjoyed for just a few minutes each day for a week (unless of course you want to and are able to linger).

As always feel free to add and subtract as you feel guided.

DAY 1
Befriend a Leaf

Go outside and find a fallen leaf. Sit somewhere and hold it in you hand, taking in it’s unique shape, color, smell, and texture. Ask the leaf if it has a story to tell. Then listen quietly and with patience.

DAY 2
Write a Love Letter to Autumn

Address a letter to Fall as though it were your beloved. Tell Autumn all the things you love about it. Express anything on your heart. Be honest. This is just between the two of you. Treat it like a real love letter – poetry, jokes, terms of endearment, erotism, cheesy sentiments welcome!

DAY 3
Do the Surrender Shake

Ask yourself: what is one thing I want to lay down, let go of, or surrender this Autumn? Once you have your answer go outside, ideally near a tree, and shake your body imagining you are beginning to shake whatever it is loose. Let the wind help you. Let the trees inspire you. Let life and breath move through your body. Shake for 2 minutes. Enjoy the post-shake buzz.

DAY 4
Have a Fall Fire with Friends and Family

Invite loved ones over to enjoy a fire. Invite everyone to name a song that always reminds them of Autumn. Either make a playlist or play them on instruments together. Enjoying singing and sharing. Keep it simple. Enjoy the Fall together.

DAY 5
Make a Tiny Autumn Altar

On a bookshelf, counter, or window sill make Altar for Autumn. Give it a name. Place objects that remind you of sentiments & energies you are grateful for this season. You might put your leaf and love letter there. Consider it a tiny work of art that you make as a gift to Autumn. Do not overthink. Building it could take less than 5 minutes.

DAY 6
Make a Fallen Leaf Mandala

Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning disk or circle. Find some fallen leaves and make a circular piece of art outside. As you make it, breathe well and consciously connect with what is sacred to you. Leave the mandala there for others to enjoy. If you are in a place where there are no fallen leaves, you can make a mandala of stones, flower petals, or anything you can find outside.

DAY 7
Have a coffee date with Autumn

Have a cup of coffee outside with the season. Ask Autumn about her dreams. Ask any questions you may have. Listen more than you speak. Oh, and don’t forget to make a little coffee offering to the land.

May we inhabit Autumn with humble hearts.
May we open to the treasures of the season.
May we honor Life with our gratitude.

♥️ + Howls,
Chris
