I’m looking at You: Seekers & Yoginis & Meditators & Community Organizers & Feminists & Activists & Spiritual Guides & Teachers of all walks, Awakened Artists & Conscious Creators & Prayerful Ones & Healers & Helpers & Seers & Awakened Hearts & all those who, in some way, are beacons of light for those around them.
It is no accident, dear friends, that in the past couple of decades the industry of stress management & wellness has exploded. It is not a coincidence that the number of yoga practitioners in the United States has nearly doubled in the past 4 years. The percentage of female entrepreneurs in the United States has grown by 30% in the last decade. Healing and Helping professions are on the rise.
We have been building an army of light workers.
American Cultural Anthropologist, Margaret Mead, wrote:
“We are continually faced with great opportunities which are brilliantly disguised as unsolvable problems.”
In the midst of the necessary destruction that always proceeds creation, we the people, stand the chance of losing heart, losing clarity & losing our power to create.
This is not an option for light workers.
This generation, those of us who are alive now, have a BIG collective contract to fulfill – together.
And we will need our practices- the ones that keep us grounded and heart-centered,
we will need the fruit of the spiritual study we have been in,
we will need to breathe and take care of our bodies and minds,
we will need our fellow soldiers – our beloved community,
we will need, now-more-than-ever, the ability to stay awake – no matter what,
we will need to remember the depth of our co-creative powers,
we will need to reach out our hands and work together in wisdom and love,
we will need our divinely inspired action,
we will need the light inside.
One of the things we must remember about the Civil Rights Movement is that it was deeply spiritual. Leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were anchored in non-violence and unapologetically rooted in spirit & faith – light.
Can you make some space this weekend to get quiet & turn inward?
Can be with your inner guidance now?
Will you dare ask the wisdom inside of you, what shall I do now?
How can I bring the light now?
And then – and this is big – can you take inspired action?
This is the moment we’ve been practicing for.

LOVE
Proud, heart taps.
One of the political organizations I belong to does ‘Calling In’ training which teaches techniques for compassionately asking others to consider your point of view rather than calling them out for things you disagree with. This makes so much sense as a strategy.
I have also witnessed groups, that want the same thing, go head to head on how to accomplish it… very frustrating! We’re not going to get anywhere if we are not kind to each other.
I’ve struggled to figure out how I can best contribute to the political efforts right now. Maybe my Gemini moon sign is a clue. I’m not sure that I have a strong enough voice to make a huge impact, so I like this idea of an army of light workers.
Thank you for this!
