Introducing the Mastery Moon Cycle
Today, as we stand on the edge of 2016, looking toward 2017 – we are gifted a New Moon in the final of the Earth Signs.
What will we build on Earth in the New year, in the New Cycle? And who will we become in the process?
Throughout this Moon Cycle (December 29th – January 26th) here at The Wild Woman Project, we are embracing the pursuit of Mastery. Whatever your worldly pursuit – be it Motherhood, Painting, Entrepreneurship, Teaching, Farming, etc. – there are skills required, structures to understand & navigate.
Mastery calls forth the qualities and habits of Wisdom, Drive, Ambition, Achievement, Artistry, Craftsmanship, Discipline, Focus, Practice.
Something profound happens to us and our lives when we pursue Mastery in a particular area.
What is the area of your life where you wish to become Masterful?

Continuing the Mystic Moon Series
This is the Fourth Theme of the Mystic Moon Series which will culminate at WILD WOMAN FEST ’17. We are moving into the Mystic, Moon by Moon. The Mystic Perspective highlights the connection between the inner life & the outer life. In the year ahead we will go even farther in developing rich inner lives & deep inner guidance so that our outer lives become more and more reflective of who we really are and what we really want, for the highest good of all involved.

A Practice: Connecting to your Inner Elder
Capricorn is the final of the earth signs, often associated with eldership.
Whether in meditation or in a journal, call upon the elder inside: you at the end of your life. With elders it is best to listen. You may ask questions or seek advice from this version of you which has the wisdom of age.
Suggested Use: Once a week for the entire moon cycle (December 29th-January 26th) set an alarm for 9 minutes. Commune with you inner elder through writing or inner vision. Breathe, listen well.
An Image to Contemplate: Sea Goat
The constellation of Capricorn paints a picture of the mythological creature, the Sea goat.
Part fish, part mountain goat, this creature holds a key to understanding Capricorn’s secret to Mastery on Earth. With its tail in the waters of life and it’s hooves on earth – contemplating the Sea goat may bring forth a kind of earth magic in you.
Suggested Use: Sometime in the first week of this Cycle, you may draw, paint, write, or simply contemplate the meaning & dimensions of this symbol.
In what area of your life do you feel called to become Masterful? (A Question)
This is a New Moon time question to ask in. Let the answer bubble up from the deepest possible place in you. And when your answer comes, treasure it! Now you know your target. The path to Mastery is full of treasure and sweat – stay awake for every step!
Suggested Use: Ask at New Moon time. Then begin/continue your process of moving toward Mastery this Moon Cycle. Mastery asks us to rise & to push pass our comfort zone. Step by step, dear one, step by step.
Mastery Moon Guidance
When dealing in worldly accomplishment, there are traps we can easily fall into – looking outside too much, competing with others, fame for fame’s sake. We have the opportunity at this Moon to remember: a. the most potent ideas come from within, b. the only thing we are competing with is our personal best, and finally c. we must carefully watch our motivations for accomplishment and it’s sister: fame/acknowledgment.
There is a great line from the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Mary Schmich, made famous in the “Sunscreen Song” which speaks to this:
“Don’t waste time on jealousy. Sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind. The race is long and, in the end, it’s only with yourself.”
