Mia Leonard – Oslo, Norway
Mia feels that one of her missions in this life is to accompany women towards an unconditional acceptance of all parts of themselves, and to help them flourish by awakening to the boundless love, primal power and beauty that resides within them.
After studying Visual Arts and working in an art therapy center, Mia trained in Human Development Psychology, Sexology and Indigenous Anthropology at Laval University in Quebec. She also trained to lead Women’s Circles at the Wild Woman School with the wonderful Chris Maddox, and learned to teach yoga with Awakened Spirit Yoga in Guatemala. More recently, Mia also trained as a birth doula and prenatal yoga teacher in the sacred Mayan highlands.
As an insatiable explorer and co-founder of an international NGO (NOW), Mia has had the chance to live in a multitude of countries around the world (Guatemala, India, Senegal, etc.), and to delve into a wide range of shamanic rituals, plant medicines and religious/philosophical perspectives. The rituals and spiritual insights she offers in her circles bear the colours of the wonders she was blessed to discover along the way.
Mia Leonard is originally from Tio’tia:ke (Montreal, Quebec), and she is currently based in Oslo, Norway, where she guides women’s circles and works as a birth doula. She plans to create a sustainable homestead, where she will be holding births, women circles, ceremonies and retreats as well as ecological projects.
Her circles encompass guided meditations, yoga, speaking circles, art therapy workshops, journaling, dance, storytelling and song, and are deeply rooted in heart-centered wisdom.
