Through the Roots

Restorative Woodland Camping Retreat for Wild Women

Full Moon Time, August 10th – 14th, 2022

Asheville, North Carolina

Soothe Your Soul

Rest Your Bones

Rekindle Your Spirit

After all we’ve been through in these last couple years, come and rest your bones by the fire.

Tune your nervous system to the trees.

Bathe your soul in the mineral-rich, Spring-fed lakes.

Let the mountain streams sing you to sleep.

Cackle and cry and dance and heal under August’s Full Moon nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in a VERY private location with lots and lots of space to spread out, explore, and make magic.

Writing a new story – together.

This Through the Roots Retreat is our very first in-person gathering since the sweet summer of 2019 where 175 women stood together at Wild Woman Fest, in all their glory, on a mountain top, unfurling a ritual prayer for Tiny Revolutions ~ within & without.
This *brand new* offering is born out of a desire to meet the needs, aches, longings, hopes, dreams & potentialities of this particular moment in time.

We are inviting women who have gathered with The Wild Woman Project before and are familiar with our values, practices & mission – that we may gracefully create something new – together.

Our foundational aims for our Through the Roots Retreat are these:

To come and lay our hearts on the Earth,

to relax our nervous systems,

to slow down and be nourished,

to gently tend & integrate (if we wish) all that has been stirring in us,

to lay down the divisiveness which has cut through the fabric of our communities,

to come together to mend and bless,

to revel in the beauty of our differences,

to curl up in the comfort of our similarities,

to tend our hearts with care,

to play (!),

to co-create at a whole new level,

to remember how it feels to be together in all our wilderness,

to intentionally honor ourselves, one another & the Earth.

Countdown to Mountain Magic!

A Message from Chris Maddox,

Founder of The Wild Woman Project & Wild Woman Fest

Through the Roots Retreat Director

The first time I crossed the threshold onto the incredible land, I wept.

I knew in my bones, instantaneously, that we wild women would gather here.

Now, in August 2022, it is finally happening! After years of being physically apart, our sisterhood medicine is needed more than ever.

This smaller, more intimate group will make for a very special kind of magic. For those who were at the very first Wild Woman Fest back in 2014, you may remember that there were 50 of us all together (participants & staff). It was…very special. That gathering was the foundation on which all other years of Fest was built.

This Summer, you are invited to come as you are, to co-create with us and with this very special land, a healing, joyful, soul-nourishing experience born of a new time & rooted in new place.

I truly can’t wait to see what we make together.

xoChris
