At the stroke of midnight, The Wild Woman Project will turn 8 years old.

HOWL.

It was both a lifetime ago & just yesterday that I sat up putting the finishing touches on the very first website I had ever made & awaiting the official New Year’s Day – stroke of midnight – launch of this project.

Since the beginning, I have had a practice of communicating with the Soul of The Wild Woman Project. I believe every living thing has a Soul or Spiritual Essence and that when we drop into our own Soul, we can enter into a meaningful communication with other Souls.

It had been a long while since I’d gone deep with my dear old friend and with her birthday fast approaching, I wanted to give her some space to be witnessed and heard, and I realize now writing these words, to be appreciated and loved. But then, isn’t witnessing and listening a way of living our love?

As the Sun began to rise over the mountains, I sat in my favorite yellow chair, coffee in hand & journal open, ready to catch messages. I closed my eyes and began slowly by deepening my breath. As I did, I noticed my breath was a having a hard time becoming full. It seemed my ribs were once again at war with my clothing choice. When will I ever learn?! So, I made the command decision to take off my bra, or as my friend Amira would say, liberate myself from boob jail! As soon as I did, the Sun beamed in through the window lighting me up & seeming to celebrate my choice.

I closed my eyes once again and we were off to the races!

The Soul of The Wild Woman Project appeared in a form that I had never seen her in before: A Great Big Mother Tree. I sat at her roots feeling tiny and deeply comforted by her powerful and loving presence.

My view point suddenly zoomed out & I began to see smaller trees, beautiful trees, in places around the globe where there are Wild Woman Project Circles happening. Each one was different and perfect in a way that nearly broke my heart. I could see that just as a Mother Tree in a forest will send saplings and smaller trees nutrients through the roots & fungal networks, the Soul of The Wild Woman Project was sending love, strength, wisdom, and light to the other trees. I sat watching in total awe for a long while.

Then I asked her if she had a message for the New Year and the New Decade, she said: Let’s keep growing spaces for remembrance, true connection & Soul-tending.

I saw where the service of The Wild Woman Project fit into the revolutionary time we are living in. A new world is being born right now and everyone alive is part of it. I saw countless coalitions of scientists, inventors, political activists, artists, makers, writers, journalists, farmers, and on & on – each working in their area to make sure this birth is a healthy one.

My inner vision cut to a scene of small circle of neighbors and friends, listening to wisdom in their Souls & sharing with one another. I saw them walking into the rest of their lives – into their homes, families, workplaces – informed by, even changed by, those subtle, yet profound, whispers of the Soul.

At The Wild Woman Project, our contribution to the healthy birth of a New World is the growing of and caring for these spaces for Soul-tending. Our only work is building intimacy with the Natural World, one another & the depths of our own Souls. Each of those 3 main roads lead to love, the most powerful force on Earth.

So, on this occasion of The Wild Woman Project’s 8th birthday eve, I would like to say thank you on her behalf & from the bottom of my own heart for being a part of our work-play-service.

You are loved.

Thank you to our Circle Leaders, who continue to grow Soul-tending spaces & thank you to those who participate – those making those Circles powerful.

Thank you to our WILD WOMAN FEST community – facilitators & participants, participants & facilitators – for making our annual multi-day ritual a space of revolutionary remembrance. I can’t wait to be with you all this Summer for our 7th year together.

Thank you to those who show up for our moonthly online sessions of Wild Woman School– The massive sacred space we make through time & space is potent. I am a stronger more connected person because of it.

Thank you to our dear Love Crew (Sesha Coleman, Danielle Gismondi, Sara Goff, Cole Lopez, Samantha Midler & Amanda P.) who help us produce FEST each year & our to our beloved Circle Leader Mentors (Amy Witmyer & Amanda P.) for helping to train our global network of Facilitators.

Thank you to Amanda Petrocelly who wears many hats & walks with me through every aspect of tending this project of ours.

And of course, thank you to The Wild Woman Project for all you continue to provide for us. I truly could not love you more. Happy Birthday!

If you’d like to offer us a birthday blessing or warm words, please leave it in the comments here! We always love to hear how The Wild Woman Project has impacted your life.

As we welcome in a new decade later tonight, I will be HOWLING and I hope you will join me – see if you can get your loved ones to join you (they’ll love it)!

I am both hopeful and fully aware of the work ahead us.

May we continue to grow together & love one another more and more each day.

The only work, the only play, happens here & now.

Happy New Year, Beauties.

Mighty Howls & Big ♥️,
Chris
