What if that was it? Simple. We are here to follow our happiness. To run through fear and skip over doubt and dive wholeheartedly into fulfillment.
What’s the meaning of life? I do not claim to have that answer and I probably never will. I do, however, have this: Some mysterious sense that our purpose is to find the things that make us most happy and do them.
I have a hunch that if everyone were doing the varying things that made them deeply happy, all would be well in the universe. I have a feeling that if everyone made personal bliss a priority, there would be some wildish order to it all.
I think we have a misconception that in order to be fulfilled, we have to do something revolutionary or outrageous. For some people that is truly the only thing that will make them happy. Another person might make pie. And in the making of the pie find a deep sense of belonging and purpose. No one is better. No one’s bliss is more important. In this philosophy of happiness, all paths to happiness are created equal.
This may seem like over simplification to you. Maybe it is. Or maybe we’ve just been over-complicating things.
