This past Saturday brought the full moon. After a very peaceful week of huge spiritual openings and milestones, I found another flavor of expression bubbling to the surface. I was angry. Aaaannnndddd pretty weepy, truth be told. What I wouldn’t have given for a padded room (preferably sound proof) and a baseball bat.
In my experience, this kind of bubbling up happens in the midst of really powerful spiritual work. Pent up emotions need an outlet in which they are expressed in order to truly move forward. I could talk about the phenomenon more but I’ll save it for another time because I want to tell you about a miraculous thing that happened the very next day.
I went to a local women’s circle (unrelated to TWWP, though of course, connected in spirit). As we went around to introduce ourselves and check–in, each spoke of the previous night. From the first person to the last, each described feeling overwhelmed with emotions and acting out in “crazy” ways.
I wasn’t alone! It was a sweet relief and powerful reminder that we are not as special in our “madness” as we think we are. As each unique woman shared such a similar experience, I exhaled a sigh of relief and inhaled big big love.
Of course it is this exact phenomenon that has driven me to help bring circles to communities that are hungry for them. Each amazing circle leader that has come forth to do the WILD Woman Circle Leader Training has felt called to create a soulful community and that’s exactly what they’ve done.
We need a place to go where we can gather, look each other in the eyes and say I see you, I feel you, I know you. It’s nourishing, energizing, and down right necessary.
In the age of cyber connections, we can often be left feeling empty and isolated. So here’s my challenge for you this week: Join in a community activity or create your own.
Of course, if you feel it’s time to start your own circle, you can train online with me starting right this very moment. And I would love to have you.
