Dear Wild Woman,

Today is the Third Full Moon of 2018. This Full Moon also means we are halfway through our “My Body Electric” Moon Cycle. This Moon Cycle is the sixth cycle in our year long series, In the Flesh, where we are exploring all the ways we can feel more deeply embodied. We are exploring what happens when we stop asking ‘how do I look?’ and begin asking ‘how do I feel?’.

This is a perfect time to check in with your body & your New Moon Intentions. Ask in: How are you feeling? How are things unfolding? What is stirring in you? What are you learning? Rather than having this be a primarily intellectual pursuit, see if you can tune into your whole body & feel into the answers.

To honor this midpoint of our cycle we asked the Circle Leaders of The Wild Woman Project,

Do you have any resources that help you tap into your Subtle/Energy Body? These can be practices, meditations, thoughts, books, songs, activities, ANYTHING that helps tune your into this dimension of self?

I use BioGeometry and Biosignatures on a daily basis. Meditation and Bön mantras

I recommend a slow walk forest bathing style in a wood…..really slow (like 1 mile in 2-3hrs slow) and practise peripheral vision and enhanced sensory awareness….really noticing with all your senses

Not a technique but knowledge that our hearts generate electromagnetic fields that extend out of the body and can be felt by others. (See Heart Math institute) This is part of how we can tap into the emotions and Presence of others. (For those with children – have you quietly walked into the room where your kids are sleeping and they stir? Like they feel your energy bc you made no noise. This is also part of my knowing)

Allison Mitch

I have used the following teaching technique for broadening body awareness beyond what people commonly take in. (I think I picked this up during a mindfulness teaching.)
1. Stand, upright and grounded (generally mountain pose for those of you familiar with yoga).
2. Pay attention to what you can see with your eyes without turning your head or looking left or right.
3. Hold your arms straight out in front of you with your palms together.
4. Begin separating your palms left and right, widening your arms out to a point where you can just see your hands on the edge of your left and right peripheral vision.
5. Pause here for a moment to take in everything you can see without letting your gaze dart around.
6. Widen your hands further until they just disappear from your left and right peripheral vision.
7. Notice how your vision still holds the awareness of your hands as well as whatever senses you are using that tells you what is lying just beyond your natural visual range.

Nutrition. Everything we touch has an energy. If I put things in my mouth, processed, multiple handling, fresh or animal byproducts, I have a lower vibrational frequency than if it’s whole food, farm to family based. Also it may start subtle, but cumulatively, it becomes very loud, physical and painful.

Crystal Waters

I have found a very simple way to experience this! As I swing on the swing set with my daughter, has allowed for me to be fully aware of the sensations in the Subtle body. Allowing your mind to soften, eyes closed, and feeling the body and sensations while in full motion. Try it! So great.

Kerry Griffith

This is something that I’ve been focusing on for the last year. I wanted to deepen my relationship with my body and what she is telling me. A practice I took on was to do a daily check-in with my body. I set an alarm on my phone and would do a body scan and see what’s coming up for me. I’d take a few minutes to get quiet and listen. Over time, this became something I started naturally doing. I didn’t need the alarm to notify me when to do this. It’s shifted now that when certain sensations/feelings surface, I stop what I’m doing and check-in to see what’s there. This shifted has trickled into other aspects of my life. I’m overall more in touch with my body, sensations, being present to all of them and overall, more connected with my intuition.

What about singing… signing is a practice that spans across all of time, the spoken word, the magic of sound couple with vibrations of the body and the breath… the vital life force.

For its laloba that sang life into the bones of the wolf, it’s the bleeding hearts that sing song of prayers to heaven, it’s in celebrations of birth and the day that we sing song of well wishing.

The most potent magic on this planet is in the most simple forms. The birds sing, bees buzz, trees whisper, rocks humm, we vibrate a resonance and in that subtle body (the electromagnetic field), it literally calls out for what it wants to draw near.

Songs heal, create fields of energetic protection and heal, and in the shamanic realms is the way We heal. We sing to call in ancestors, directions, and truth. We sing in worship, devotion and love. We sing a spiritual song to connect, to release and to express our truth.

Follow the song.

I have a pretty steady Kundalini yoga practice, which helps immensely with being in tune with my subtle energy. One of my favorite exercises is called ego eradicator pose, it’s a very powerful way to clear the energy field and shift your state and it only takes 3 minutes!

Dancing! With or without training, any kind of dancing! Moving to music with, or especially without planning or choreography, clearing out the cobwebs and bringing energy through the system.
Also the movement of yoga (sometimes a specific form creates extra mental space to observe the subtle body), and breathwork like Kundalini practices. Which includes Kirtan or chanting or singing of any kind.

Breath and music. Breathing with music, moving with music is an energetic high. It activates me on every level. So invigorating.

I love to use crystals. I have specific crystals for my pockets, as well as using them in grids in my home. I find that even touching them periodically can alter my mood or even the moods of those around me!

Natalie Bird

Right before I go to bed, as part of my spiritual practice, I ask the questions posed by Chris as part of the NM in Aquarius one by one: dear physical, electrical, emotional, mental and spiritual body(wise one) what do you want me to know? The dreams that answered me have been absolutely incredible. They are insightful, amazing, thought provoking and demand to be written in my journal. I am still dancing with last night’s dreams. Big love to all!
