We are creatures of story, instinctively making meaning of life’s chaos.

As we move through our short lives on Earth, what we choose to pay attention to, the ways we decide to name what has happened, shapes our reality.

Naming the beautiful things we perceive, even in the darkest of days, is a kind of heart-tending love-firming practice in shaping our reality.

With your pen as your wand, without thinking too hard, name five beautiful things you have seen or experienced recently.

Here are mine:

five beautiful things

the sudden raucous bellowing of laughter
through a body in despair

two fluttering white butterflies mating ecstatically
atop the compost pile

the glimmer of tenderness shining through
the eyes of a stranger in a world of uncertainty

the warm comfort of his under the covers voice
in the too early morning

the tiny pines growing out of the forest floor
and against all odds

And yours?

Write in your journal and if you wish, please share in the comments below. Can’t wait to read every single one.

May we remember the power of the stories we tell – again and again, forever and always.

In Love,

Chris
