Wild Woman Initiation Lesson 5

About the Wild Woman Initiation Series

The Wild Woman Project came to me in a flash, a vision & it wouldn’t let me go. So, I listened. The Wild Woman archetype has been initiating me ever since. Through various experiences, which have mostly been about untangling what is true & what is not true in my own being, I have come ever closer to the wild woman within. I am a student, servant, guardian to this project who’s mission is to to awaken women to their most authentic, undomesticated nature, so they may feel like themselves, all the time, no apologies. I am sharing the 13 most important lessons I’ve learned about the path of the Wild Woman over the next few months. May it be useful.

5

Middle of the night.
Curled up in the shower,
sobbing.
A nightmare wrapped me in its dark reality.
It happened.
The worst thing I could have imagine had come to pass.
Hugging my knees tight,
feeling like I might die.

A heard a firm yet, loving voice emerge from deep within.

The Wild Woman Spoke:
Stand up,
dry off
and go to sleep.

The next morning, I rose out of bed somehow alive and breathing. Like a toddler taking her first steps, I was wobbly but determined. The thing I most feared had happened and somehow I was brushing my teeth and making my breakfast and heading off to teach.

How? I didn’t dare ask. I just moved forward, step-by-wobbly-step..

In the Chakra System (the Tantric Yogi’s Map of the Energetic Body), the heart center is called the Anahata Chakra. Translated from Sanskrit, Anahata means “Unstruck.” This name speaks to the resilient nature of the human heart.

To me, Anahata says: there is a place inside of my heart that is absolutely and miraculously unbreakable.

~~

Because of the intimate nature of my work, I get to hear so many stories of resilience in the face of the worst thing. Women who have faced the nightmare diagnosis, heart wrenching betrayal, the death they weren’t ready for, the failure, the loss, and on and on.

What I always experience in these moments, of witnessing women telling their stories, is awe to the highest degree.

How did they do it? How did they find the strength? How are they living and laughing even as they tell the teary story?

I don’t dare ask. But I have a notion that they do it step-by-wobbly-step.

~~~
So when you find yourself fearing the worst thing.
When you find yourself in the midst of the worst thing.
May you remember this…
Lesson 5: Your heart is inherently, blessedly, resilient & you are stronger than you can imagine.
